Oh, and: MFA READINGS!

As you may or may not know, every year GLO and the English department get together to celebrate the writing students who are graduating. This year is no exception, and we have extra reason to celebrate -- in the past, it has been Master of Arts in writing, and this year rolled out the Master of Fine Arts program. Very fancy.

Our non-fiction readers will be:

Lisa Ekman
Carla Feinstein
Haili Graff
Ron Horton
Merilee Karr
Jan Kurtz
Jenny Tatone

Our poets will be:

Wendy Bourgeois
Michael Achterman
Chris Cottrell
Wendy Noonan

Our fiction readers will be:

Bob Balmer
TBD
TBD
TBD
TBD

The dates for the readings are:

May 17 - Poetry
May 19 - Fiction
May 21 - Non-fiction

All readings will begin at 7:30 p.m., and there will be a little time beforehand to mingle and have some hors d'oeuvres. Catering will be provided by Elephants Deli, so it will be delicious.

All of the readings are at Blackfish Gallery, located at 420 NW 9th Ave., on 9th and Glisan. It's a really nice space.

This is a great opportunity to see what PSU's up-and-coming writers are doing! We are going to have a great night of food, reading, hopefully a little wine and beer, and a celebration of all the hard work that our MFA comrades have done.

See you there!

Hello awesome MFA students! In Other Words, a community center in North Portland is hosting an event called Poetry Against Prejudice on Friday, April 27th! It will be Open Mic style, and it would be great if some of you could come and read your work. Here's a link to the FB event: http://www.facebook.com/events/305231832880095/
