Seeking Short Stories, Nonfiction Essays About Personal Flaws
FAULT Magazine is seeking short stories, nonfiction essays, photographs and animated works that deal with human flaws.
Each issue of the magazine will focus on a single undesirable characteristic, exploring who is affected by it, the impact it has on individuals, when it can be especially bad (or actually good),
and any other aspect of the flaw that is interesting to consider.
All written pieces must be under 10,000 words. Authors whose work is accepted will receive a free print edition of the journal.
The first five issues will deal with these 'flaws':
-Perfectionism
-Dependence
-Apathy
-Imperiousness
-Self-Obsession
We're seeking works that incorporate these characteristics in funny or serious ways. It could be a story about a self-absorbed celebrity, a defense of apathy, a photo essay on dependence to alcohol, or any other approach you can come up with. The more unusual and sincere the work, the better. Ultimately FAULT hopes to offer an entertaining look at human frailty and a serious consideration of some of our more unpleasant traits.
Each individual issue is online, but we are expecting to make a combined print edition of the five issues together.
Please email all submissions and inquiries to submissions@faultmag. com.
